City of Ale Festival Time Again !

Well a whole year seems to have slipped by since we last posted on here so it's now time for City of Ale 2014 !

This year Golden Triangle is featuring three beers :

The Hop Lobster is attending his first City of Ale festival as we have only let him out of his tank in the brewery once before ! He was brewed with three local malts and five American Hops all beginning with "C" ! The Hop Loster is a 5.5% abv IPA style hop monster of a beer.

Red Square is a 4.6% abv American Red Ale with a Soviet twist . Three American Hops combine with Three East Anglian malts to give a strong fruity hop aroma with a substantial malty base leading to a lengthy dry finish.

Citropolis at 3.9% abv, is a pale golden ale, light, refreshing and zesty with citrus hop notes and fruity aroma from a good dose of Citra and Cascade hops.

You will find these beers available in about ten of the fine pubs in the fine city but not all at once ! More details on the City of Ale beer list.

We will also be tweeting updates during the festival on @trianglebrewery

Black Hops IBA

Our new ale for the Autumn , Black Hops IBA is now available in several good pubs in Norwich. Black Hops is a distinctive  Black "IPA" of 4.6% abv, brewed with East Anglian Malt and 3 types of american hops. Rather than the somewhat contradictory description of black "IPA" we are calling it an India Black Ale or IBA.

It was very well received on it's Norwich debut on Thursday 27th at the excellent White Lion Beer and Cider festival and also in St Albans at the St Albans CAMRA Beer Festival. This week we have delivered Black Hops to the Kings Head, The Murderers, The Sir Garnet and the Cottage. We have also delivered  a cask down to London to the Rake Bar in London Bridge.

City Gold on Ratebeer

Here's a description of City Gold that we found on the net on for the benefit of those that haven't had a chance to taste it yet.

"Clear, pale golden with a creamy, lasting white head atop leaving a heavey lace. Crisp, zesty citrus profile. Toasty crispy underlying malt aromas. Lemon, delicate grapefruit, some toastiness and a pale malt sweetness.
Soft palate, light to medium body, ligering dryish crisp & hoppy finish "

Well, can't argue with that ! Cheers !

Norwich Beer Festival : one year later

The 34th Norwich Beer Festival finished last night and I am amazed when I think back to last year's festival that Golden Triangle was little more than a dream for the future. I was working as a volunteer at the festival and I was given valuable advice by some of the more experienced brewers there.

One year on and City Gold has just won the Bronze award in the Golden Ale category:

Many thanks to all those who took the trouble to vote at the festival.

"If you don't have a dream . . . . . . "
